This is the plot hook for the garou half of the game. The vampire side caters to Camarilla, Anarch and Sabbat. Feel free to check us out!
RIbN is looking for a few good Garou! It is a play by post game using the 20th anniversary rules as well as some really nice character creation steps as well. Sadly it is not my game, so first you have to make an account to see these rules and make your character. Then once the character is made, it opens up the board even more. So despite what you see the board is pretty active. And yes it is also a Vampire game as well with a spattering of mortals as well running about. Anyway, I saw some people in the chat were looking for a werewolf game and thought I would put this up in case anyone was interested.
Despite the false alarm of Apocalypse that was the turn of the century, the Garou Nation has continued to decline. Amid great victories, and equally heroic defeats, the forces in service of the Wyrm have gained ground, with no end in sight.
So when word started to spread of a great Garou warlord gathering an army in Rhode Island, it gave the Nation something it hadn't had in a long time: Hope.
Blade-that-Mends was the embodiment of Garou ideals. A Silver Fang of the purest blood, strong, intelligent, and from a line of ancestors free of degeneration which plagued much of the tribe, he had never met defeat, and perhaps more importantly, no pyrrhic victories either. He struck the Wyrm with precision, not wasting any lives, not expending any resources on targets that weren't worth the cost. There were none who could find fault with him, and his Renown grew to levels unheard of in decades, perhaps even centuries.
So when Blade-that-Mends declared that he was going to amass a true army of the Nation, instead of derision and infighting, he was met with support and eager enthusiasm. When he declared that he would begin by purging Rhode Island of Wyrm-taint, no one raised an eyebrow or questioned the choice. Even those who worried what "purging" would entail voiced their concerns quietly. After all, Blade-that-Mends wouldn't cleanse innocents.
The army he began to build was truly historic. Garou from septs and caerns throughout the world flocked to his banner. Every tribe was represented in force. He even established a detente with enclaves of some of the Fera. The Ratkin saw this as an unprecedented opportunity to tear down a bastion of civilization. Corax provided intelligence, compiling targets for when the army would strike.
When an advance force cleared out Warwick, it seemed that the purging of Rhode Island was imminent, but Blade-that-Mends cautioned that the time wasn't yet right. He wanted to gather an unassailable force because, he said, the axe had fallen, the Nation must be prepared to immediately bring down additional targets. They couldn't let the forces of the Wyrm have time to breath.
So his forces continued to gather, and word continued to spread. Garou and Fera continued to flock to Rhode Island, and the glory that awaited.
You seem to have heard the calling late, or been unable to respond earlier, but now you are answering. You stepped into the Umbra, traveling with haste to the caern in Richmond. You vaguely noticed that it was curious that you didn't encounter any other travelers to the caern, and the spirit activity was surprisingly light. You reach the caern and step sideways into the material world.
And found nothing.
The caern is deserted. There is signs of heavy population - the rumors of the size of the army were not exaggerated. There were no signs of a fight. Thinking perhaps the army had moved out in force, you reach out to the spirits to find where the expedition went. But no spirits answer your call.
You seem to be the only Garou in Rhode Island.
