This is the structure and ranking of members of the Sabbat, mostly taken as a direct or abridged version from the books.
As a side note the ruling class as far as Sabbat leaders are concerned mainly come from none other than the two Sabbat based clans, the Lasombra and the Tzimisce. These clans are held in high regards because it is believed that these are the most successful in destroying their elders outside the Sabbat. Other clans are found to be strong leaders, but these two tend to weild more prestige.
Regent-
This is the highest rank a leader of the Sabbat can hold. It is said that the bearer of this title is similar to a president of the sect, and merely watching over the children of Caine until he makes his return to lead them. It is held by a single vampire.
Regents are ruthless and cunning, often having to proove themselves time and time again that they belong as leader of the sect. Their authority is not absolute, but most often their directives are carried out.
Cardinals-
This group of individuals helps the Regent, in part by over seeing large geographical areas of Sabbat. They seldom have to answer to the Regent, unless their actions have been detrimental to the Sabbat as a whole. They are responsible for all that happens within their respective regions and also for organizing and delegating all activities of the Sabbat in that region. There are currently over a dozen cardinals in the Sabbat, but with our growing numbers, the number will most likely soon increase.
Prisci-
Below the cardinals are the prisci. These act as a somewhat Consistory or "Board of Directors" for the Sabbat. They advise the Regent and the cardinals about the affairs of the sect. Collectively they have more power than a solitary cardinal, but individually they are no match in the political power structure of the Sabbat. Most are either elders or ambitious ancillae and can be of various clans. The prisci, along with the cardinals, form the Inner Circle of the Sabbat, which has the power to depose or overrule a Regent.
Archbishops-
Serving each cardinal of the Sabbat are archbishops. These vampires usually work their way up through the ranks, serving lengthy tenures first as priests then as bishops of the sect. Cardinals each have the power to appoint whomever they wish to the position of an archbishop. However, most candidates merely proclaim thenselves to be archbishop, and the cardinal chooses to approve it. The archbishop is the Sabbat's answer to the role of Prince in the Camarilla, as in they control a city, which is often callen an archdiocese.
Bishops-
Below the archbishops in rank are the bishops, who control the finances and the security of the sect. They also are allowed to call upon individuals or entire packs to carry out activites that are in the best interest of the Sabbat. Often they also control divisions of territory inside a city, called dioceses. Sabbat memnbers are within their rights to refuse a bishop's request, but risk loosing favor with that bishop and are possibly seen as disloyal by other sect members.
Priests-
The lowest rank of leader in the sect are known as priests. They mainly administrate individual packs. Each is a skilled leader, though they may not be the only leader within a pack. They not only act as emissary to the bishops in the city, but are also trained in leading Sabbat rituals.
